Season 1, Episode 48: Balancing Quality Gear and Coffee for My Vision

By Oaks The Coffee Guy
Episode Summary:
In this episode, I discuss my latest Amazon product listings and buying fresh coffee for upcoming roasting batches. I explain why cheaper, crowd-pleasing coffees that taste good across roast levels are important for debuting my roasting. I also share updates on purchasing studio lighting and audio equipment, finding the right balance between quality and cost effectiveness. Getting quality audio and video gear doesn’t have to break the bank. I reflect on how using what you have allows you to better understand what you really need down the road.

I also debate the convenience of Keurig coffee pods versus specialty coffee. While I don’t want to compromise on taste, I’m opening up to meeting people where they are instead of convincing them of my ways. My goal is to give people the opportunity to explore great tasting coffee, not force my expertise on them. I’m learning that the joy of coffee is facilitating whatever experience works for each person. In the end, it’s not just about the coffee but what it does for you. Even when distracted, these casual episodes help me clarify my vision of sharing coffee with others.
