Season 1, Episode 50: Grinding as an Entrepreneur: Coffee, Amazon, YouTube, and Self-Care

By Oaks The Coffee Guy
Episode Summary:
In this episode, I share updates on my coffee roasting, YouTube channel, and selling products on Amazon. I discuss my process for roasting Kenyan coffee in different ways to experiment with taste, including a very light roast at 95 on the scale. I also open up about feeling a bit overwhelmed with YouTube and wanting to improve my content by doing more overhead shots of the coffee making process.

On the Amazon front, I share that my Everyday Beans coffee has finally been cleared to sell in the Food and Gourmet category. I plan to focus on getting my Brazilian coffee, the best seller, up on Amazon this month while I figure out the logistics.

I also give listeners a peek behind the scenes of my home studio setup. I talk through my plans to arrange lighting and camera angles in the small space. The goal is to maximize the studio while eliminating tripods and unnecessary equipment.

During the process of working on these entrepreneurial projects, I am reminded to slow down and take care of myself. I share that I am getting a vasectomy and have doctor's orders to take it very easy for a few days. I reflect on how past injuries have forced me to chill out and examine things in a new light. I decide to embrace this short phase of relaxing as a creative reset.

Listeners will learn what it takes to continuously improve multiple passion projects while balancing health and family. I offer an authentic look at the ups and downs of grinding as an entrepreneur.
